First Generation

It has not been proven that James O'Kelly who descends from Teige of Aughrim is my ancestor so please do not replicate such as fact.  My Rick O'Kelleyprimary purpose for presenting this possibility is the hope additional descendants of the Buckfield or Aughrim Line may contact me with more documentation.

1. James O'Kelly Esq  If we accept the Pedigree of Kelly as our authority it seems James must have been born before 1620 and died during the battle of Aughrim on 12 July 1691 in Aughrim, Co Galway Ireland at more than 70 years of age.  I suspect that this is in error and he was born about 1660 and was a young man when he was killed at the battle of Aughrim but he could have been born as earily as 1637 and was likely named James because of the Aughrim families close association with Earl and later Duke James Butler.  The O'Kellys of Aughrim possessed the Aughrim Manor House and sizeable acreage because  of the Earl James Butler.  Source http://www.jstor.org/pss/25535389

I am going to suggest that John O'Kelly likely named a son Teige and James was born to this Teige.  I have no proof and my theory is built upon the fact that James named his son John likely after James's grandfather John.  We do not know if James had any other surviving children and it would not surprise me if it should be discovered that he did.

Elizabeth Osborn.  She was the daughter of Captain Osborn who died at Aughrim.  The Index of Prerogative Wills of Ireland lists a Captain Edward Osborne of King William's Army who died 1691.  I have found no method to confirm that Edward was the father of Elizabeth Osborn.

James O'Kelly of Aughrim and Elizabeth Osborn had the following children:
